Granitop Tablets are indicated in adults for the prevention and treatment of acute nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
INDICATIONS
Granisetron hydrochloride USP is indicated for the prevention of:
- Nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses
of emetogenic cancer therapy, including high-dose cisplatin.
- Nausea and vomiting associated with radiation, including total
body irradiation and fractionated abdominal radiation.
Dosage:
Adult: 10mcg/kg intravenously within 30 minutes before initiation of chemotherapy. This should be given only on the days of chemotherapy.
Children: 2-16 years of age:10mcg/kg.
Oral: Adult: 2mg once daily (upto 1 hour before chemotherapy) or 1mg twice daily (First 1mg to be given upto one hour before chemotherapy and the second 1mg tablet to be given 12 hrs.after the first dose)
Side Effects:
Anxiety, headache, fever, dizziness, asthenia, somnolence, dizziness, insomnia.
